Our Cause
The Nehemiah Foundation provides a network for Christian churches and ministries to amplify their positive impact to build God’s kingdom in Springfield and Clark County. Ultimately, we envision Springfield and Clark County as a community where all people would know God’s love for them.
We put our mission and vision to work in the community through four pillar action areas:
Our Values
FAITH • LOVE • RESPECT • UNITY • COMPASSION
What Our Partners Are Saying
Nehemiah has helped Citilookout in many ways. Financially – Nehemiah helped us pay an administrator to keep us fiscally sound. Spiritually – The Nehemiah Foundation network and staff have helped us keep our eyes, mission, and spirits focused on God by providing a once a month prayer time and modeling the importance of keeping Him in front of us. Emotionally – feeling like we are part of a huge ministry network, with everyone working toward building our community and helping people in a myriad of ways heal individually and collectively is uplifting. It helps keep us from feeling isolated and from feeling like it’s too big a task for one organization. Networking helps us know who to make referrals to, what resources are out there, and we work together when the opportunity arises.
The Nehemiah Foundation has not only supported the Children’s Resource Center financially for 25 years but, they have also given spiritual support by offering prayer and sharing groups each month. Through these gatherings, relationships with other ministry leaders have grown and been strengthened. Grant collaborations have given way to sharing our strengths rather than competing for grant dollars.
I am incredibly thankful to The Nehemiah Foundation for all of the resources they support in the Springfield/Clark County community. The Nehemiah Foundation continues to grow and impact ministries to help empower and uplift those in need within our community. Interfaith Hospitality Network embraces the opportunity to work with The Nehemiah Foundation in faithfulness to God, to assist individuals and families overcome homelessness.
We have been a part of the Nehemiah network for 24 years. I cannot begin to reflect on all the blessings through the years that the foundation has afforded our organization. Meeting Christians, ministries and church leaders in our community has been amazing through the years. What we would have missed had we not had those opportunities… We have learned many things through the training the foundation has offered. The faithful financial support through the years has been essential for our existence. Connecting us to other organizations through state and federal grants. Being associated with The Nehemiah Foundation has given us validity for some people as the foundation is respected and trusted. Most importantly, having the opportunity to join with the body of Christ to better glorify Him in our community.
The monthly gatherings for prayer and fellowship have been greatly appreciated! It’s so good to be together with others seeking to make a difference with God’s help! Our numerous partnerships with other ministries have helped us accomplish a much greater impact together than if we were totally by ourselves. During 9 years of federal funding, we partnered with 5-6 other Nehemiah ministries to serve a wide swath in the community.
Being a part of the Nehemiah network has given us the opportunity to be encouraged and to love and support other ministries in Clark County!
The pastor’s group facilitated by The Nehemiah Foundation, has been a vital part of our ability to minister within the context of the larger community. If we want to see a significant impact for the Kingdom within our city—it has to be through the collaboration of the Church as a whole. As our group of pastors sits down around the table, we are able to rely on the interdependency of leadership delineated in Ephesians 4 and hear from the Lord how He wants to move us together in reaching our community with the Gospel.
The Nehemiah Foundation has been the foremost encourager and connector for Christian ministries in the Springfield and Clark County area for over 25 years. When the local church supports The Nehemiah Foundation we become directly involved with all the participating ministries and the larger body of Christ in our city. We really are doing Kingdom business this way.
