As businesses and agencies in our town began shutting down, our family wanted to be open to ways to offer support to others in our community. When Nehemiah’s connecting platform presented the opportunity to help serve food to residents of Interfaith’s shelters that had been relocated to hotels due to COVID, we were in!
This has been a great way for my family to take the focus off ourselves and to learn more about both the struggles people are facing and the resiliency of people that are experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. We find ourselves looking forward to Sunday nights, to be able to get out of the house, see how people are doing and serve.
